About Us

Premium lighting,
built by hand.

Hi, I'm Dairon

Hanging lights since 2020.
Building Silicon Valley Lights since 2024.

I founded Silicon Valley Lights in 2024, but I have been hanging lights since 2020. It started in Florida. I was sixteen, up on a ladder, knocking on neighborhood doors and taking any work I could get. I had read about Christmas light installation as a side hustle and figured I could do it. The work came naturally. I have always been good with my hands, and I could see the finished install in my head before I started. My first paying job was a two-story home entered into a local Christmas light competition. The house won.

I have been doing this ever since.

I moved to California in 2023 with forty dollars in my bank account. I slept on a couch for months. I worked, I saved, and in early 2024 I launched Silicon Valley Lights.

My first SVL client was a three-story home in San Francisco. Full fáçade Christmas lights across every floor. Since then we have completed installations across the Bay Area. Weddings. Christmas. Permanent rooflines. Estate work. Restaurants. Stanford's stadium tunnel.

Why This Work

I am not in this to sell lights.
I am in this for the moments people won't ever forget.

My mother fled Cuba, a country where Christmas was outlawed for decades and where the celebrations our family wanted to have simply could not happen. My father grew up in some of the roughest parts of Mexico, hustling his way out of a place where there was no money for holidays at all. They both came to this country with nothing and worked harder than anyone I have ever known. They wanted to give us the celebrations they never had, and they did the best they could.

When I got to California with forty dollars and nowhere to live, I understood what they had done in a way I had not before.

That shaped me.

When I install lights for a wedding, a Christmas, a milestone birthday, or an estate's first roofline that will glow every night for years, I am not thinking about wattage and clip spacing. I am thinking about a family standing in front of their home, taking a photo their grandkids will see one day. A bride walking down a path I lit two hours earlier. A kid who comes home from college in December and sees the house and knows, immediately, that he is home.

That is what I am actually selling. The lights are just the medium.

How We Work

An owner-led operation, end to end.

Silicon Valley Lights is an owner-led operation. Every project is designed and led by me, executed with a small group of trusted people I bring on as projects demand. There are no franchise reps, no sales departments, no rotating crews. The person who walks your property at the consultation is the person who designs the install, the person who shows up on the day, and the person you can call a year later if anything needs attention.

Our clients have told me what other companies put them through. The pressure on the call, the upsells, the templated quotes for completely different homes. We built this differently because we have heard those stories too many times.

I have also been called in to fix the work of other companies. Installs where the design touch is not there, where the cable management was an afterthought, where the whole thing reads as copy-paste rather than something built with care. That is what most of the industry looks like up close. We are not interested in being part of that.

Power management, cable routing, fixture placement, fastening method, daytime appearance. All of it gets resolved on paper and in my head before a single light goes up. I have been taking things apart and putting them back together since I was a kid. The technical side of the work is something I genuinely enjoy, and it shows up in every install we do.

When something is not perfect, we go back. When a client wants a change after install, we figure it out. We work with people, not at them.

“Every one designed and led personally.”

What Guides Every Project

Five principles behind every install.

Craftsmanship First

The install is the product. Cable routing, clip spacing, alignment, daytime appearance. All of it matters and all of it gets done right.

One Point of Contact

You work with me, from consultation through final takedown. No project managers, no handoffs, no “let me check with my team.”

Service, Not Sales

We recommend what your project actually needs. We do not pitch upgrades, push add-ons, or build artificial urgency. The work speaks louder than any pitch.

Reliability

When we commit, we are there. When something needs attention after install, we respond. For our clients, this is the part that matters most.

Designed, Not Dropped

Every project gets a custom design. We do not subcontract, we do not rent equipment, and we do not run templates. Each install is built for the space it lives in.

Selected Work

Two projects worth telling you about.

Outdoor wedding reception at a Tuscan stone estate with a dense overhead bistro string light canopy and candlelit dinner tables

Saratoga, 2024

A 200-guest estate wedding.

Custom bistro canopy, ambient uplighting, and pathway accents on a private estate, framed to the millimeter to feel like part of the architecture rather than something added on top. The kind of install where the bride did not have to think about the lighting once during her own wedding, which is the entire point.

Bay Area ranch home with a permanent smart color roofline showing a full rainbow gradient at night

Los Gatos, 2025

A first-of-its-kind permanent roofline.

We completed a Govee Prism install inside a PermTrack PVC channel. The first home in the country to receive that exact configuration. Multiple roof heights, uneven surfaces, complex rafter geometry. Two thirteen-hour days. The result was clean enough that the system reads as part of the home, not as lights attached to it.

Different services. Same standard. The same attention applies to a backyard wedding bistro canopy as to a roofline that will glow every night for years.

Service Area

Serving the Bay Area in English and Spanish.

We coordinate directly with homeowners, planners, estate managers, and household teams across the Peninsula, the South Bay, San Francisco, and Marin.

  • San Jose
  • Palo Alto
  • Saratoga
  • Los Gatos
  • Los Altos
  • Menlo Park
  • Atherton
  • San Francisco
  • San Mateo
  • Marin
  • Hillsborough
  • Woodside

And 15+ surrounding cities. Trabajamos en inglés y español.

Giving Back

An actual program, not a marketing line.

For every $500 spent with us, we plant ten trees through Ecologi. The work I do exists because two immigrants worked themselves to the bone to give me opportunities they never had. Paying that forward is part of how this company runs. Tied to actual revenue, not goodwill copy.

FAQ

Common questions,
answered simply.

Not sure where to start? We have answered the questions most clients ask before booking their first consultation.

Silicon Valley Lights is a professional outdoor lighting contractor serving the San Francisco Bay Area. We design, install, and manage event lighting, Christmas and holiday lighting, permanent year-round outdoor lighting, and Govee smart roofline installations for homes, estates, venues, and commercial properties.

We serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area, including the South Bay, Peninsula, San Francisco, and North Bay. That covers 20+ cities such as San Jose, Palo Alto, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Atherton, San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin County, and more.

Most Silicon Valley Lights projects start at $800 and scale based on the size of the home, linear footage, and design complexity. Pricing includes design, commercial-grade materials, professional installation, in-season maintenance, and full takedown and storage.

Our minimum project size is $800. This minimum applies across event, Christmas, and permanent lighting installations, and it ensures every job receives the same commercial-grade materials, custom design, professional crew, and dedicated scheduling that define our work.

Yes. Permanent lighting installations carry a 3-year warranty on the lights and a 3-year warranty on our installation craftsmanship. Govee smart roofline installations using the PermTrack PVC channel carry a lifetime warranty on the channel system itself.

We are a local Bay Area team that handles every project directly without franchising, subcontracting, or rental equipment. Every install is custom designed, built with commercial-grade outdoor-rated materials, and supported end-to-end from consultation through takedown or long-term service.

Yes. We install using methods that do not damage gutters, shingles, or fascia, including gutter clips, fascia-safe clips, and the PermTrack PVC channel for permanent Govee systems. Every crew is licensed and insured and uses professional aerial equipment such as cherry pickers rather than unsafe ladder work at height.

Yes. A 50% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining balance due upon completion of the installation. This locks in your install date during our busy event and holiday seasons.

PermTrack is a rigid PVC channel system from a partner manufacturer that we install on Govee permanent smart roofline projects. It fully conceals the wiring, holds the LED strip in a perfectly straight line along the fascia, and is paintable and color-matchable to your trim for a clean architectural finish.

Our Govee installations with the PermTrack channel produce a comparable architectural finish to Trimlight and Gemstone at a more accessible price point. The main advantage is local service, since you work directly with our Bay Area team rather than through a franchise or national third-party channel.

Yes. Every Christmas lighting package includes full takedown and storage in January, plus in-season maintenance visits if anything needs adjustment during the holidays. You do not need to handle anything after the initial install.

We recommend booking Christmas installations by early fall, ideally between August and October. Installation schedules for the Bay Area fill up quickly, and booking early guarantees your preferred install window and takedown date.

Yes. We design and install custom event lighting for weddings, corporate events, private parties, restaurants, and venues throughout the Bay Area. Packages include warm-white bistro and market strings, uplighting, tree wash lighting, and full takedown after the event.

Yes. Every lighting system we install can be made app-controlled if you want it to be, from warm white Edison and C9 strings to event uplighting and permanent rooflines. Our Govee permanent roofline systems are the most feature-rich out of the box, with full app and voice control, millions of colors, scheduling, holiday presets, and per-node animations built in.
